The French capital of Art Nouveau, Nancy boasts a rich architectural heritage. A favorite destination for art lovers! Immerse yourself in the beauty of this historic city on one of 5 Art Nouveau and Art Deco tours. Nancy's tourist office will show you the city's many aesthetic facets in the truest sense of the word.
Head to the heart of Nancy for a journey into "Art Deco". The shops, the former Magasins Réunis and the L'Excelsior extension will transport you to an architectural world marked by the interwar period, when spiral motifs and cut-aways replaced right angles.
"At the heart of business" explores the economic scene around 1900. The École de Nancy is reflected in the many buildings of the city's economic center. Spearheading Art Nouveau in France, this art combines craftsmanship and industry to become "total". You'll discover the characteristics of this style from the Rue des Dominicains to the famous L'Excelsior brasserie.
A third guided tour takes you from the L'Excelsior brasserie to the Villa Majorelle. Strolling along rue de la Commanderie and avenue Foch, you'll also discover buildings and hotels that illustrate the Art Nouveau style in all its splendor.
Nancy's pharmacies are also fine examples of both styles. With their facades adorned with plant motifs and their authentic, preserved furnishings, they have become veritable architectural and historical heritages. Explore them on a guided stroll to discover their subtlety, from the Ginkgo pharmacy on rue des Dominicains to the Jacques pharmacy on rue Jeanne d'Arc.
Last but not least, the majestic Parc de Saurupt welcomes you with its Art Nouveau and Art Deco buildings, designed in 1902 as a garden city.
