As the successor to the Hôtel des Prélats, the hotel has inherited its historical and architectural heritage. It was completely renovated in 2024 and features 41 rooms. Each room, with its Italian or Empire-style décor, pays tribute to a character from Stendhal’s works or his circle. You’ll find yourself in the company of Sanseverina, Fabrice del Dongo, Julien Sorel, and Mathilde de la Mole. The Hôtel Littéraire Stendhal & Spa is an invitation to curiosity and discovery. Near the bar and its magnificent glass roof, more than 500 books—including first editions, works, and manuscripts from the extensive collection of the Société des Hôtels Littéraires—open up a world of fantasy and intrigue that only literature can conjure! As with each of our creations, this hotel is designed to be a true cultural hub in the heart of the city, hosting literary evenings, exhibitions, and performances.
