Bushcraft initiation in the wilderness

Treat yourself to a real break from the hectic pace of everyday life, and immerse yourself in an immersive experience in the heart of nature. At the École Douce du Bushcraft, in the heart of Domaine Herbes et Bois, you’re welcomed onto a medicinal plant farm.

No extreme survival here. The aim is to introduce you to simple but fundamental techniques for evolving autonomously in nature, while cultivating a bond with your environment. In a caring spirit, you’ll learn how to light a fire using different methods, read tracks and signs in the forest, make basic tools from natural elements, and identify local plants for their traditional uses.

The experience is divided into four parts, to take you on a real journey. In the afternoon, from 1:30 to 4:30 pm, you’ll discover the basics of gentle survival through practical, accessible workshops. Then, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m., enjoy the unique atmosphere of the camp, with its wood fires, sunsets and shared experiences around the flames. As night falls, you enter a phase of supervised autonomy: a night on your own or with a partner in the heart of nature, in a safe but deliberately uncluttered setting that lets you get back to basics. The following morning, a moment of exchange and feedback concludes this interlude.

No particular physical condition is required: this adventure is for anyone who wants to slow down, learn and reconnect with nature… and with themselves. As an added bonus, you’ll leave with your own firesteel, to continue practicing at home or on the road.
