association des amis du musée vodou
The Château Vodou is an atypical private museum, presenting the world’s largest collection of West African Vodou objects in Strasbourg. Housed in an exceptional setting, an 1878 water tower, it is managed by an association. Vodou is a religion that encompasses a vast field of practices, rituals and beliefs. It originated in West Africa, more specifically in the ancient kingdom of Dahomey. It took its present form around the 17th century.
