Micro-adventure “Village, city and wine” at the start of the Wine Route in Kut’Zig
Are you a wine lover looking to discover the secrets of Alsatian wines? This micro-adventure is perfect for you! Expand your knowledge and, of course, sample a few Alsatian grape varieties.
Depart from Colmar and head toward the Alsace Wine Route aboard the open-top bus, the Kut’zig.
This incredible day begins in Ribeauvillé, a charming village that immerses you in authentic Alsace. Its three castles overlooking the town and its majestic Tour des Bouchers give it a unique character. A winemaker will welcome you into his cellar to let you taste three Alsatian grape varieties. You’ll also leave with a bottle of Alsatian wine (37.5 cl) as a souvenir!
Then hop back on the Kut’Zig and stop in Kaysersberg, voted the most beautiful village in France in 2017. Explore its historic center and admire the castle overlooking the village. You’ll find plenty of restaurants there for lunch.
Next stop: Eguisheim. It’s impossible to resist the understated charm of this cradle of Alsatian viticulture, named “the French people’s favorite village in 2013.” Enjoy a tasting of crémant and wines in the heart of this unique village.
After a day full of excitement and discoveries, take the Kut’Zig one last time to head to Colmar.
Colmar, a cozy city steeped in history, romance, and the good life. Take this opportunity to explore the capital of Alsatian wines at your own pace through its charming, authentic neighborhoods, such as Little Venice or the Ancienne Douane district! Also visit the brand-new Alsace Wine Museum, which explains the history and winemaking process in Alsace. This fun and interactive museum will delight visitors of all ages—and the icing on the cake? A final wine (or grape juice) tasting to round out the visit.
(If you’re short on time on your way back to Colmar, you can visit the Alsace Wine Museum the day after your micro-adventure.)
