Discover the elegance of the “Little Versailles of the Aube” during an exceptional tour of Brienne-le-Château! This architectural masterpiece, usually closed to the public, opens its doors for a few exclusive dates, offering a unique immersion in local history.
Through a guided tour lasting about 1 hour led by the Association for the Preservation of Brienne’s Heritage, explore this iconic castle built by the Counts of Brienne and beautifully enhanced in the 18th century by architect Jean-Louis Fontaine. Amid sleek facades and historical anecdotes, your volunteer guide will take you on a journey back in time, to the heart of a site steeped in majesty—unfurnished, yet rich in history.
On the agenda: a tour of part of the ground floor and the castle’s exterior, allowing you to fully appreciate the architecture and atmosphere of a place often compared to grand royal residences. Take advantage of this rare opportunity to explore an exceptional piece of heritage.
In addition to the guided tours, enjoy special events starting at 6:00 p.m. (registration required):
– July 11: Concert by Quatre2Troyes
– August 8: Lecture “Different Perspectives on Places of Confinement” by Dr. Colette Westphal, a psychiatrist in Nancy
– September 12: Lecture “The East During the Crusades and the Extraordinary Fate of Jean de Brienne” by Annick Leclerc
– October 10: Classical music duo

Opening times
Join us on Saturdays, July 11, August 8, September 12, and October 10. Tours will depart at 3:30 p.m., 4:00 p.m., and 4:30 p.m. These tours are accompanied by additional events (concerts or lectures) starting at 6:00 p.m., which are available for an additional fee.
Access to the castle will be via Avenue de Bauffremont, 15 minutes before each tour departure.
