The Kaysersberg Christmas market is always a hugely popular and well-attended event! Therefore, to make the most of the magic of the place, we recommend arriving in the morning (or even as soon as it opens at 10 am) or in the late afternoon before dinner time, so you can watch the village light up as night falls.

A car is often the most flexible way to explore the Grand Est region, and the small Alsatian villages in particular. So, if you’re driving to Kaysersberg, it’s best to park in one of the car parks on the outskirts of the village and take the shuttle buses organised to ease access to the historic town centre, which is entirely pedestrianised at market weekends.
Alternatively, if you’d like to take the opportunity to visit other markets, leave your car in the car park and hop on the Christmas Shuttle! Line 1 can take you to Colmar, Riquewihr or Ribeauvillé, depending on the direction of the route. From 27 November to 20 December 2026, it runs from Friday to Sunday, with departures every 30 minutes on Saturdays and Sundays (every hour on Fridays). A day ticket allows unlimited journeys on the route – children under 12 travel free of charge. Tickets are available online only; please check noel-colmar.com before your visit as fares may vary from one year to the next.

For an unforgettable stay, steeped in this intimate and magical atmosphere, choose a charming hotel in the heart of the medieval town. The traditional holiday cottages and guesthouses in the Kaysersberg Valley also offer a particularly warm and authentic atmosphere. Finally, for a comfortable stay close to the event, the surrounding wine-growing villages offer charming guesthouses or peaceful holiday rentals.

On the Alsace Wine Route, Kaysersberg is the perfect starting point for discovering the magic of Alsace’s Christmas markets. Just a few kilometres away, head to the Colmar Christmas market, one of the most enchanting in the region! Nearby you’ll also find the picturesque villages of Riquewihr and Eguisheim, with their unmissable Christmas markets. More low-key but just as enchanting, events in neighbouring villages – such as the Advent Lights in Ammerschwihr or the Orbelais Christmas Market in Orbey – are well worth a visit. Remember to check the dates and times before you go!
