Discover a unique landscape garden in the heart of the Vosges, created from the transformation of a site steeped in history. Located in the commune of Ban-de-Sapt, the Jardins de Callunes invite you on an immersive visit to a natural setting created with passion.
Created between 1994 and 1996 by landscape architect Jacques Couturieux, the gardens cover 4 hectares and offer a wide variety of landscapes and atmospheres. Their uniqueness lies in their history: once a quarry and then a landfill site, the site has now been completely rehabilitated to become a landscaped botanical garden. As you stroll along the paths, you’ll discover a succession of plant scenes, where callunes and other local species create a lively backdrop that changes with the seasons. Traces of the past, such as an old trench, also recall the history of the site, adding a heritage dimension to the visit.
Today, this private garden is run by Thomas and Anaïs, who are pursuing its development with the ambition of enhancing the space and making it accessible to as many people as possible. Their commitment is evident in the upkeep of the site and the welcoming atmosphere that emanates from it. A visit here offers a moment of calm, conducive to contemplation and botanical discovery.
Let yourself be seduced by this exceptional garden and plan your visit to explore a place where nature, history and passion meet in harmony.
