A day at the Centre Pompidou-Metz
A moment out of time in an iconic institution whose programming has been delighting audiences for 15 years!
The Centre Pompidou-Metz is a masterpiece of contemporary architecture. Designed by architects Shigeru Ban and Jean de Gastines, it features four exhibition galleries covered by an audacious roof in the shape of a Chinese hat.
As the first experiment in cultural decentralization, the Centre Pompidou-Metz hosts 6 to 8 temporary exhibitions of modern and contemporary art each year. The works on display come from the art holdings of the Centre Pompidou Paris, Musée national d’Art moderne, which has one of the most prestigious collections in the world, but also from many other museums in France and abroad, as well as from galleries and private collectors.
Program 2025 :
– Until 01.09.25: Exhibition Après la fin. Maps for another future
– Until 02.02.27: Exhibition Sunday without end. Maurizio Cattelan and the Centre Pompidou Collection
– Until 02.02.26 : Copistes exhibition. In exceptional collaboration with the Musée du Louvre
– From 24.01.26 to 31.08.26 : Exhibition Louise Nevelson. Mrs. N’s Palace
This space for the discovery of artistic creation in all its forms is also a lively place where events linked to the exhibitions, such as performances, concerts, workshops and conferences, take place throughout the year. Guided tours of the exhibitions and the building’s architecture are also available for groups.
A must for modern and contemporary artistic expression, the Centre Pompidou-Metz offers you a true cultural escape with the Billet Liberté. Valid once, at any time of the year, it allows you to program your visit as you wish.
Before leaving the site, don’t forget to stop by the restaurant of Michelin-starred chef Charles Coulombeau: for lunch, you’ll find “Umé”, a contemporary brasserie offering Franco-Nipponese cuisine, which transforms into “Yozora” in the evening, a gourmet restaurant offering an intimate and exclusive experience. Finally, for a gourmet break, head to the Café and leave with unique souvenirs in the bookshop-boutique!
