Itinerary :
Day 1: Strasbourg – Obernai region ≈ 37 km
Arrive in Strasbourg in the morning, drop off luggage at 9am and start the stage. The Canal de la Bruche was once used to transport wine from wineries to Strasbourg’s capital.
Today, the cycle path runs alongside the canal from Strasbourg to Molsheim. You’ll pass by Rosheim’s 12th-century church, before staying in Obernai or Barr.
Day 2: Obernai region – Riquewihr region ≈ 50 km
On tarmac roads, you pass through vineyards and villages with half-timbered houses where geraniums bloom. Mittelbergheim, Dambach la ville, Ribeauvillé, and Riquewihr are among France’s most beautiful villages.
Day 3: Riquewihr region – Colmar ≈ 39 km
The Route des Vins and its string of villages will take you from the vineyards to the wine and art capital of Alsace. Turckheim and Eguisheim will conclude your discovery of Alsace like a postcard. Arrive in Colmar, home to the sculptor of the Statue of Liberty, Bartholdi, and Renaissance painters Martin Schoengauer and Matthias Grünewald.
Day 4: Departure or extension of your stay
You can return to Strasbourg by train for around 30 minutes (ticket at your expense).
