Discover a unique landscaped garden in the heart of the Vosges, created through the transformation of a site steeped in history. Located in the town of Ban-de-Sapt, the Jardins de Callunes invite you to an immersive visit in a natural setting crafted with passion.
Created between 1994 and 1996 under the guidance of landscape architect Jacques Couturieux, these gardens span 4 hectares and offer a wide variety of landscapes and atmospheres. Their uniqueness lies in their history: once a quarry and later a landfill, the site was completely rehabilitated to become a landscaped botanical garden. As you stroll along the paths, you’ll discover a succession of plant-filled scenes, where heather and other local species create a living backdrop that changes with the seasons. Traces of the past, such as an old trench, also serve as reminders of the site’s history, adding a heritage dimension to the visit.
Today, this private garden is managed by Thomas and Anaïs, who are continuing to develop it with the goal of enhancing this space and sharing it with as many people as possible. Their dedication is evident in the care they take in maintaining the site and in the welcoming atmosphere it exudes. A visit here offers a moment of tranquility, perfect for contemplation and botanical discovery.
Let yourself be enchanted by this exceptional garden and plan your visit to explore a place where nature, history, and passion come together in harmony.
