Family Snowshoe outing

Please make sure your vehicles are equipped in accordance with the mountain law from October 31 through March 31; roads can sometimes be heavily snow-covered even if there is no snow or rain in the valley. Make sure you have the necessary equipment, such as snow tires or all-season tires plus snow chains. Be careful with GPS systems, which often take you the shortest route by distance; many mountain roads are forest roads that are not plowed or may even be closed in winter. Be sure to check your route in advance and, above all, contact us for more information if needed.

- A small hiking backpack with a water bottle (note: the water may freeze, or a 50 cl to 1-liter thermos of tea, depending on your preferences) - A pair of high-top hiking boots (required for attaching snowshoes at the ankle) that are waterproof, or snow boots with warm, ski-style socks - Warm hiking clothes suitable for winter mountain weather (which can feel as cold as -10°), (for example, you can wear leggings with sweatpants over them if you don’t have special snow pants) - A ski jacket or warm fleece vest + a Gore-Tex jacket - Ski gloves or mittens, a beanie, a neck warmer, sunglasses, and sunscreen - You may want to keep a complete change of clothes, including shoes, in your car in case of wet weather
