Snowshoe outing with Vincent

Please make sure your vehicles are equipped in accordance with the mountain law from October 31 through March 31; roads can sometimes be heavily snow-covered even if there is no snow or rain in the valley. Make sure you have the necessary equipment, such as snow tires or all-season tires plus snow chains. Be careful with GPS systems, which often take you the shortest route by distance; many mountain roads are unplowed forest roads or even closed in winter. Be sure to check your route in advance and, above all, contact us for information if needed.

- A small hiking backpack with a water bottle (note: the water may freeze, or a 50 cl to 1-liter thermos of tea, depending on your preferences) - A pair of high-top hiking boots (required for attaching snowshoes at the ankle) that are waterproof, or snow boots with warm, ski-style socks - Warm hiking clothing suitable for winter mountain weather (which can feel as cold as -10°), (for example, you can wear leggings with sweatpants over them if you don’t have special snow pants) - A ski jacket or warm fleece vest + a Gore-Tex jacket - Ski gloves or mittens, a beanie, a neck warmer, sunglasses, and sunscreen - You may want to keep a complete change of clothes, including shoes, in your car in case of wet weather
