Sens & Matières invites you to enjoy a unique experience by taking part in creative workshops alongside a passionate craftsman. Lithography, leatherwork, ceramics... awaken your senses and immerse yourself fully in the process of transforming materials, discovering the technicalities of an art craft and, more often than not, making your own creation under the guidance of a professional. Sens & Matières is aimed at all those with an interest in arts and crafts, families and the curious, who want to take part in creating a unique object. There are no prerequisites, just a desire to create and share.

              Throughout the year, artisans from the Grand Est are selected for their technical mastery, and you can discover their creative world.

              Passionate about their craft, these men and women from the Grand Est imagine, design, shape or renovate unique pieces or exceptional objects. They benefit from the heritage of recognised expertise, handed down from generation to generation. Their technical skills enable them to transform a complex material into a truly creative work of art. When you visit a craftsman, you have the privilege of immersing yourself in a remarkable world of unique gestures and techniques.

              Raising the profile of arts and crafts in the region
              In partnership with the Agence Régionale de Tourisme and the Région Grand Est, the Chambre de Métiers et de l'Artisanat (CMA) Grand Est is raising the profile of arts and crafts in the region by offering immersive workshops in an art form. The CMA Grand Est's aim is to make arts and crafts accessible to as many people as possible, an approach that promotes the development of our cultural heritage and the economic appeal of our region.

              Payment for your workshop is made directly via the website of each craftsperson. The artisans offered must have a fully secure payment system.

              Depending on the type of disability, not all workshops are accessible to people with reduced mobility. It's best to contact the craftsman offering the workshop directly to check.

              Once you have booked your workshop on our platform, you can, if you wish, contact the craftsman directly to obtain further information.

              Throughout the year, craftspeople are selected by the Chambre de Métiers et de l'Artisanat de Région Grand Est for their technical mastery and their creative universe. A pre-selection committee has been set up with the art and craft referents from each département to offer you a refined selection.

              On the Explore Grand Est platform, payment is only made online via the payment platform of each artisan.

              Of course, the craftsman must issue an invoice at your request.

              The workshops offered by Sens & Matières are group workshops for 2 to 6 participants. The number of participants has been limited to 6 in order to encourage discussion with the craftsman.

              Accompanying adults are only permitted for children under 16 and people with reduced mobility. For exceptional reasons, please contact the craftsman offering the workshop directly.

              Sens & Matières workshops are mainly offered in French. If the workshop can be given in another language, this is mentioned in the workshop description.

              The Sens & Matières workshops give participants the opportunity to discover the trade, know-how and career of a craftsman for the duration of a workshop. They may awaken a vocation in some participants, but they are in no way a training course in an art profession.
