Le Grenier du Roc » is located at 720 m altitude in La Burotte, in the commune of Basse-sur-le Rupt, between Haut du Roc and Thiéfosse in the Moselotte valley.
In addition to its unspoilt natural setting, the gîte is unique in its design, as it is based on an old farmhouse from the Hautes Vosges region, where wood and stone blend harmoniously.
The 180 m2 single-storey space includes 4 bedrooms, 2 mezzanines, a living/dining room, a fully-equipped kitchen, 1 bathroom and 1 shower room, 2 WCs and annexes (laundry room, ski and bike storage, etc.).
Garden furniture provides an original shelter for living in harmony with nature.
You’re just 5 km from the Moselotte valley, where a superb greenway runs from Cornimont to Remiremont. This is bordered by numerous destinations emblematic of the activities of this Hautes Vosges region (mineral exhibition at Terae Genesis, textiles at Bleu Forêt and Erneste, wood museum, leisure center with lake equipped with play equipment…).
La Bresse, the largest winter sports resort in the Grand Est region, is a 1/2-hour drive away, as is Gérardmer, the Pearl of the Vosges, with its casino, fantasy film festival, daffodil festival and triathlon.)
The famous Théâtre du peuple founded by Maurice Pottecher in Bussang is 40 minutes from the B&B. Along the way, the Hautes-Mynes archeological mining site reveals the ancient copper mines of Le Thillot, exploited by the Dukes of Lorraine from 1560 to 1761.
A visit to Remiremont « la Coquette » will reveal the rich secrets of this city of Chanoinesses, founded from a community that lived on Saint Mont, the highest point in the city. In the summer of 2024, Remiremont will have the privilege of hosting the women’s Tour de France.
Less than an hour from the gîte, the Plateau des Milles Etangs (Franche-Comté) and, to the east, the Alsace region, offer you plenty to discover, both in terms of scenery and local entertainment.
If you’re with family or friends and you’re looking for a place to recharge your batteries, meditate, immerse yourself in the local culture or get back into shape with a mix of sporting activities, tasting local produce and discovering remarkable sites, you’ve come to the right place!
Many local specialities are the result of the expertise of passionate and inventive producers. You’ll find them at local markets or directly at their homes, where they’ll offer you their warmest welcome.
As you make your way along the Vosges peaks (Route des Crêtes), we also recommend a stopover at one of the many farm inns. A hearty « marcaire » meal awaits you in a warm and friendly atmosphere.

Pale February morning – Paul-Jean Toulet
Pale February morning
Dove color
Come, appease our quarrel,
I’m tired of shouting;
Tired of having bled for her
More than one black inkwell…
Pale February morning
The color of a turtledove.
