Would you like to try your hand at braiding? This is the perfect opportunity. Come and weave your own interwoven basket for a day at Valérie’s workshop in Bouxurulles, Vosges. It will be made from raw wicker (willow branches with bark).
This workshop is aimed at creative or curious adults, for beginners or those already practicing basketry.
Valérie trained at the Fayl-Billot basketry school in Haute-Marne 23 years ago. She has taken part in numerous basketry festivals in France and Europe, and met basketmakers who have helped her evolve in her practice. The art of interlacing is one of them. This has been Valérie’s specialty for the past 10 years, and she’ll be sharing her expertise with you.
During the day, you’ll have time to discuss wicker cultivation, its preparation…
