Fusing – make your summer glass creation

This summer, enjoy a unique creative experience at Vannes-le-Châtel with an introduction to fusing, a glassmaking technique accessible to all. Young and old alike are invited to create an original composition based on the models on offer: landscape, hot-air balloon, postcard with personalized engraving.

Fusing is a technique that uses small, flat pieces of colored glass on a transparent support. The whole is then heated to a high temperature (820°) in a kiln. The pieces of glass melt, adhere and fuse together.

Each creation reveals a surprising play of light and color. This fun, sensory activity lets you develop your creativity while discovering a know-how that’s still alive and well in the Grand Est region of France.

Please note: fusing creations must be fused in our kilns and will be available at least one week after the activity, during gallery/workshop opening hours.
