Introduce yourself to an ancestral craft and create your own Champagne service tray in feather marquetry.
Artisan d’Art in Reims, Éric Charpentier welcomes you for a morning or afternoon to share an original creative moment. With him, discover featherwork, a rare heritage craft that has survived the centuries.
Following an introduction to the history of featherwork, Éric will introduce you to the skills and tools of the featherworker. With him, you’ll quickly move on to the creation of your marquetry: choice of feathers, assembly, techniques and advice. Eric will accompany you every step of the way.
Once your composition has been assembled, Émilie will reward you with a refined moment over a glass of Champagne: a commented tasting, during which you’ll discover that the art of the feather and Champagne have much in common.
At the end of the workshop, you’ll take your platter home, finished by the master plucker.
