Treat your children to a fun and creative immersion in the world of modern and contemporary art at the Centre Pompidou-Metz. Every weekend and bank holiday, the famous cultural venue in Metz offers a Atelier Jeune Public, designed for children aged 5 to 10. A great opportunity to explore art interactively, in an inspiring setting designed by architects Shigeru Ban and Jean de Gastines.
From January 24 to July 12, 2026, the « Intra » workshop will be presented, defined as a showcase on the scale of the beings who slip into it. The body, box of our agitations, follows a production line where hands are in action: daring to open drawers deformed by time, wrapping oneself in velvet and findings to compose, accumulate, bind and twist materials gleaned from our everyday environments. The aim of this workshop is to transcribe our inner states and let our theatricalities reveal themselves in the form of an object that resembles us.
The 90-minute sessions take place at 11 a.m. or 3 p.m., in a friendly, caring atmosphere. In parallel, don’t miss La Capsule, a free space for artistic exploration open Wednesdays, Saturdays and public holidays from 2pm to 6pm. A participatory experience where art comes to life in contact with the public.
From January 21 to May 17, 2026, La Capsule welcomes artist Linda Sanchez. It was in 2024, during her residency at the Saint-Louis crystal glassworks, that this artist was able to develop her « Les bousillés » series. Inspired by the rotating movement that is omnipresent in the manufacture, this exhibition is an opportunity to share Linda Sanchez’s reflections on this circularity. Produced in close collaboration with artisans from the crystal works, a set of crystal spinning tops in multiple shapes will be set in motion within the Capsule.
