As part of Longwy’s Venetian Carnival, the Office de Tourisme du Grand Longwy invites you to a guided tour of the town’s fortifications on Sunday, April 28. Let us take you on an exciting historical and cultural journey!
Built in 1679 on the orders of Louis XIV, Longwy was designed by Vauban to become a veritable fortress. Among Vauban’s achievements, it is one of 9 cities built from scratch, earning it a place of honor on UNESCO’s World Heritage List.
At 10:30 a.m., the 2-hour guided tour will take you to the heart of the fortifications. It’s also possible to follow the tour in Italian, to get into the Venetian carnival mood.Theguides will be dressed in costumes especially for the occasion! At the end of the tour, at around 12pm, you can enjoy an authentic Italian aperitif.
