Discover Bar-sur-Seine, between vineyards and heritage, on July 19, 2026. In the heart of the Côte des Bar, this Petite Cité de Caractère® invites you to explore an area where the Seine, vineyards and history meet in harmony. Just thirty kilometers from Troyes, let yourself be seduced by the authenticity of this charming town.
On this guided stroll, you’ll follow the traces of the local vineyards along the right bank of the Seine through the toponymy. Each place name reveals a history, a use or a close link with the wine-growing culture. You’ll learn how the landscape has evolved over time. The route takes you to an unassuming washhouse, tucked away in a secluded spot, whose spring was already famous in Roman times and mentioned by Saint-Bernard, adding a singular historical dimension to the visit.
Accessible to all, this walk of a few kilometers unfolds at a pleasant pace, with regular pauses for observation and discussion. Departure is from the March 19, 1962 traffic circle, and walking shoes are recommended to get the most out of the tour. In the spirit of Dimanches de Caractère®, the tour concludes with a convivial wine tasting, showcasing local flavors and know-how.
Let yourself be guided between vineyards and history, and reserve your place for an authentic immersion in Bar-sur-Seine.
