Set off on a bike tour around the Rhine, between France and Germany, and experience eight days of gentle roaming in the heart of an area as rich as it is varied. The Rhine Ring reveals a succession of natural landscapes, flower-filled villages, renowned vineyards and emblematic historic towns. A complete itinerary to explore Alsace and the Breisgau in complete freedom, alone, in pairs or with friends.
The tour begins in Strasbourg, where you can stroll freely through its UNESCO-listed historic center. On your second day, you’ll cross the Jardin des Deux Rives on your way to Kehl. You then follow the German bank of the Rhine through the Rhine forest, before reaching Ettenheim, a charming town of half-timbered houses.
Then on to Freiburg im Breisgau, one of southern Germany’s most beautiful cities. Along the way, picturesque villages, shady forests and well-maintained cycle paths make for a pleasant ride. Once in Freiburg, enjoy the lively atmosphere and superb panorama from the Schlossberg.
Day 4 sees you return to France via Vieux-Brisach, perched on a hill overlooking the Rhine. You then discover Neuf-Brisach, a Vauban stronghold, before heading for Colmar. The capital of Alsace wines, Colmar’s charm lies in its medieval streets, canals and remarkable heritage.
The following days will immerse you in the emblematic villages of the Wine Route: Eguisheim, Turckheim, Kaysersberg, Riquewihr, Hunawihr, Ribeauvillé, Barr and Obernai. You’ll ride through the heart of the vineyards, between plain and foothills, with superb views of the hillsides and the Vosges mountains.
The tour concludes with a return to Strasbourg via Rosheim and Molsheim. A peaceful final leg along the Bruche canal brings you back to the Alsatian capital, where this tour of nature, heritage and conviviality comes to a gentle close.
With well-paced stages that can be adapted to your level, and comfortable accommodation every evening, this trip offers you the perfect opportunity to discover Alsace and the Pays de Bade in a different way.
Book your stay now and let yourself be carried away by the beauty of the landscapes, the richness of the heritage and the gentle way of life along the Rhine.
