Be a soldier for a day and live a unique experience! Play as Private Jean, and meet his comrades to share the intense life of the Underground Citadel. You will relive the events that made this place a symbol, like the Choice of the Unknown Soldier.
The visit of the Underground Citadel takes place in 3 stages: you will start with a walking tour (15 to 30 mn): Verdun in the Great War. Discover the history of the Battle of Verdun, the state of the front in 1916, the logistics,... And get to know the 4 soldiers that you will follow throughout the visit thanks to "sound showers", panels and a video projection.
Then, the visit will continue with a walk and a guided gondola tour (35 min): In the heart of the Citadelle Souterraine. Scan your ticket at the turnstile and enter the underground passages. After a video projection at the entrance of the galleries, walk towards the boarding platform in immersion, climb into a gondola and put on your augmented reality helmet. Step into the shoes of soldier Jean Rivière and share, with three other soldiers, their visit to the Citadel, a break from the Great War.
Finally, a walking tour (30 minutes) will immerse you in the memory of the Great War. To conclude your visit, several modules on the history of the First World War are available. You leave the galleries on foot, passing through the old boiler room, the mess hall and the kitchens. Discover the history of the Citadel since its creation thanks to 3 playful and informative touch screens. End your visit with a film that immerses you in the story of the Choice of the Unknown Soldier.
