Snowshoeing at Lac Blanc or Hohneck

With snowshoes on your feet, you’ll be guided by a mountain professional through breathtaking winter landscapes. It’s an exciting discovery tour that you can enjoy with your family or friends!

There are 2 itineraries to choose from for this snowshoeing tour. The first, to discover Lac Blanc, starts from the Col de la Schlucht. A state-qualified guide will be waiting for you in front of the Le Tétras building to fit out your snowshoes and explain the route. Starting from the Lac Blanc station, he’ll take you to the thatch-covered ridges, famous for their flora, which is unique in Europe. Enjoy panoramic views over the Weiss valley, then head for the Lac Blanc spring. A break with a hot drink awaits you at Château du Hans, on the lake’s belvedere, before a gentle descent back to the starting point.

The second option takes you to the Hohneck thatch. Meet your guide in front of the auberge des crêtes at Col du Calvaire. After a briefing, he’ll accompany you to the Hohneck, the highest peak in the Vosges, from where you’ll enjoy breathtaking views over the Alsace plain, the Black Forest and even the Alps. The tour then takes you through the secondary thatch of the Trois Fours and the spectacular rocks of the Martinswand. Enjoy the majestic view of the Frankenthal glacial cirque, before crossing a beautiful pine forest. Along the trails bordering the Hohneck massif, you’ll catch glimpses of glacial cirques, as well as landscapes adorned with waterfalls, moraines and glacial lakes offered by the surrounding valleys. Your tour ends with a peaceful descent on the Vosges side, with a magnificent view of Lac de Longemer.

This package includes a 2h30 to 3h walk, professional supervision, snowshoes and poles, snacks and booking fees. Free parking available. This activity is accessible to all levels, but is not suitable for people with heart problems or reduced mobility. A minimum of 4 participants is required.
