What if your child could become an animal keeper for a morning? The Mulhouse Zoological and Botanical Park offers a unique immersive experience, specially designed for young animal lovers aged 8 to 15. A fun, educational and supervised activity to discover what goes on behind the scenes at the zoo and the essential missions of the animal caretakers.
Accompanied by a professional animal keeper, children enter the park’s technical areas, usually reserved for staff. During the morning, they take part in everyday activities: cleaning enclosures, preparing and distributing meals, observing animal behavior, and even an introduction to medical training using gentle methods to facilitate veterinary care.
The activity takes place in very small groups of a maximum of 3 children, to guarantee personalized support and quality immersion. At the end of the activity, there’s time for discussion, so that children can ask questions, express their impressions and better understand the role of zoos in preserving endangered species.
Set in the lush greenery of Mulhouse Park, one of France’s oldest zoological parks, this morning is a unique opportunity to combine discovery, awareness and vocation.

Parc zoologique et botanique de Mulhouse
Created in 1868, the Mulhouse Zoological and Botanical Park welcomes 1,200 animals in a magnificent 25-hectare landscaped setting.
As a European center for the conservation and knowledge of endangered species, the park offers visitors the opportunity to observe the 160 species presented in order to better understand them and take action for their preservation. The park, classified as a "Remarkable Garden", and its 9 thematic gardens offer a place to walk in all seasons.
The zoological and botanical park offers many possibilities for discovery to enrich group or family outings: guided animal or botanical tours, visits on a small train, animal encounters, treasure hunts or special visits. An adapted catering service is also available for young and old alike!
