Mulhouse Zoological and Botanical Park

Welcome to one of France's oldest zoos!

Created in 1868, the Mulhouse Zoological and Botanical Park takes you on a journey to meet 1,200 animals in an exceptional natural setting. In this peaceful wooded environment, admire 160 species from all over the world: polar bears, okapis, red pandas, Siberian tigers, wallabies and Australian birds. As a European centre for the conservation and understanding of endangered species, Mulhouse Zoological and Botanical Park offers you a unique opportunity to observe certain species threatened with extinction in the wild. Enough to make you want to do something to help preserve them!

Fascinating because of its residents, the Mulhouse Zoological and Botanical Park is also fascinating because of its 25-hectare park, which has been awarded the "Remarkable Garden" label. This green setting is home to more than 200 endangered plant species from the Alsace Botanical Conservatory. As you follow the paths along the enclosures, let yourself be charmed by the generous blooms in the 9 themed gardens. In spring, the tulip garden is breathtaking!

Monkey Mountain

Monkeys in Alsace? Without a doubt!

Still in Kintzheim, near Sélestat on the Route des Vins d'Alsace, lies a most surprising animal park: La Montagne des Singes. More than 200 Barbary macaques live here peacefully in freedom, in the heart of a 24-hectare forest. The good news is that everything is set up so that you can watch them, talk to them and laugh at their antics! Many activities punctuate the day at the park: breakfast with the monkeys, guided feedings, discovery activities... Not forgetting the new fun and educational trail on the theme of primates!

Give your children the chance to "slip into the skin of a monkey" and let them wander around the nets perched in the trees. We bet the behaviour of the great apes will hold no secrets for them!

And for a unique experience up close to the animals, take a private tour of the park and join in the monkey breakfast!
