Who has never wished to live in a fairy tale?

Conjure up images of colourful half-timbered houses, delightful little medieval streets, winstubs and the scent of geraniums, and you’ll have no trouble recognising the signature of a typical Alsace village. Every one of them is imbued with its own magical charm, so much so indeed that Kaysersberg, Eguisheim and Hunspach have all been awarded the “French People’s Favourite Village” label!

From the wetlands of the Grand Ried to the valleys of the Vosges Mountains, Alsace’s villages are connected by cycle paths through vineyards and fields. Sometimes medieval sometimes Renaissance, the ambience to be found in Alsace villages has many faces, without ever losing its fairytale atmosphere or high spirits.

Neuf-Brisach and its military architecture

On course for a site that has no equal anywhere in Europe! Neuf-Brisach is the quintessence of the French architectural engineer Vauban’s dream: an astonishing 17th-century town entirely encircled by fortifications, created from the ground up in compliance with a curious octagonal plan. Its Parade Ground and bastion towers are still intact and promise you a truly out-of-the-ordinary visit marked by a piece of military architecture inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
