Kaysersberg and its surroundings
A truly remarkable, perfectly preserved medieval town, Kaysersberg is famous for its fortified bridge, its imperial castle and its church, to discover as you make your way through its cobbled streets. Its strategic location on the Alsace Wine Route makes it a stopover on no account to be missed out on.
Riquewihr, Ribeauvillé and their surroundings
Ribeauvillé’s picturesque neighbourhoods are the home of Alsace’s oldest festive tradition, the Pfifferdaj, or Fiddlers’ Festival. A bustling municipality overlooked by three fortresses and its vineyards, it’s an ideal starting point for discovery of the wonderful unspoilt villages nearby, including Riquewihr and Hunawihr, both of which boast the “Most Beautiful Villages in France” label.
Neuf-Brisach and its military architecture
On course for a site that has no equal anywhere in Europe! Neuf-Brisach is the quintessence of the French architectural engineer Vauban’s dream: an astonishing 17th-century town entirely encircled by fortifications, created from the ground up in compliance with a curious octagonal plan. Its Parade Ground and bastion towers are still intact and promise you a truly out-of-the-ordinary visit marked by a piece of military architecture inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
