Angélique Jung, a sculptor from Meuse, invites you to an outdoor stone-carving workshop at the Abbaye des Prémontrés. Open to everyone—adults and children ages 9 and up—this 3-hour workshop combines the passing down of ancestral craftsmanship with the joy of creation, all in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.
In the waterside gallery, located in the heart of the main courtyard garden, you’ll learn how to shape a rough block of local limestone. With a chisel in hand, Angélique will guide you through shaping the stone, sculpting the material to reveal the design of your choice. This hands-on process is complemented by an artistic touch: coloring the stone with natural pigments, inspired by ancient and medieval traditions.
This sensory and immersive experience will be punctuated by the clinking of tools, personalized advice from the artist, and the satisfaction of creating something with your own hands. To round off this workshop in style, a sweet treat will delight those with a sweet tooth.
