Cycling is very popular in the Grand Est region! FromAlsace to Lorraine, via the Ardennes, sportsmen and women are redoubling their efforts to win. Throughout the year, major international competitions take place on the region's hilly roads. Not least the famous Tour de France for Women, with 6 out of 8 stages passing through the Grand Est in 2022, a great opportunity to discover our region in the company of the athletes and their supporters!

April - Circuit des Ardennes

Taking place over several daily stages, the Circuit des Ardennes race moves between listed natural sites and historical heritage. A real cycling epic, every year many sportsmen and women come to challenge the winding, undulating roads of theArdennes. Take part in this frantic race in the heart of this verdant little paradise.

May - Tour de la mirabelle

The Tour de la Mirabelle takes place in Lorraine. Suitable for all types of riders, it is divided between cycling pros and Sunday cyclists, thanks to its public Mirabelle Cyclo event, which runs in parallel throughout the year. This is your chance to follow in the footsteps of your favourite champions!

July - Tour d'Alsace

At the end of July, come and watch the Tour d'Alsace, a cycle race that combines a love of cycling with a passion for the region. Every year it attracts the biggest teams to compete over five days through the plains and mountains of Alsace.

Cycling races for the general public

Ever dreamt of winning the yellow jersey? Test your competitive spirit on the public cycling circuits of the Grand Est! It's a chance to (re)discover the region and enjoy the pleasures of cycling.

June - Slow up

One of the most eagerly-awaited festivals of the summer, Slow Up takes you on a tour of 11 communes at the foot of Haut-Koenigsbourg. Festive, sporty and gourmet, this day puts the Alsace Wine Route and the Véloroute du Vignoble in the spotlight on a route closed to all motorised traffic. Do the tour at your own pace, on foot, by bike or inline skates! Just a quick reminder before you set off: no alcohol at the wheel or on the handlebars!

June - Col'attitude

Alone, with friends or with the family, come and climb the Vosges passes in complete peace of mind during the Col'attitude. For the occasion, the most beautiful mountain roads are exceptionally closed to traffic and reserved for those who wish to set off by bike, mountain bike or electrically assisted bike. Rediscover the pleasure of getting moving and promote gentle mobility in the heart of the Vosges forest.

Take on the Grand Est by bike!

You're not a competitive cyclist, but you'd like to combine a sporting activity in the fresh air with some sightseeing? Then take one of the major cycle routes through the Grand Est!

Covering more than 1,000km, the European cycle route of the Meuse follows the course of the river Meuse, from its source in Haute-Marne to its mouth in the Netherlands. On the French section, a dozen stages are aimed at both amateur and experienced cyclists.

A little further east, the Voie Bleue links Sierck-les-Bains in Moselle to Fontenoy-le-Château in the Vosges. The route is entirely flat: ideal for a first family experience!

Mountain bike racing, an all-terrain adventure

Looking for a thrill? Between the Moselle, the Reims mountains and the Vosges massif, the Grand Est region is bursting with perfect spots for mountain biking. Every year, beginners and experienced riders gather in the region to share their passion, whether as part of a competition or a guided tour!

May - Les Galipes Champenoises

Departing from Rilly-la-Montagne, a pretty winegrowing village just a few kilometres from Reims, the mountain bikers and cyclists from AS Rilly will take you on a tour of the Champagne countryside, between vineyards and forest. Bonus: a picnic break featuring local produce to replenish your strength before the return journey!

May - 24h des Crapauds

In the heart of the Moselle, between the protected areas of the Lorraine nature park and Mont Saint-Quentin, the "Crapauds" host site is the ideal terrain for all fans of mountain biking... and fancy dress! This 24-hour relay race has plenty of laughs in store. Get your adrenalin pumping and try to win the Crapauds trophy! We warn you: you're in for a rough ride...

July - La Trace Vosgienne

The Vosges mountains offer a wide range of mountain bike trails for all abilities. In summer, many enthusiasts set off on the Trace Vosgienne from Lac de Longemer, not far from Gérardmer. Set against a backdrop of magnificent fir trees, participants set off on a 55km journey across the Vosges mountains in a splendid setting. In winter, cross-country skiers compete on the same course!
